COVID-19 Testing Criteria

Waterford Family Medicine is dedicated to assisting with the prevention of the spread of infectious diseases. Our center entrance is now our acute care entrance. We ask that all patients and family members that are scheduled for symptoms of a respiratory illness Use the center entrance. We also ask that all patients and family members don a mask provided IF you have the symptoms of a respiratory illness. Additionally, we recommend following the advice of the CDC and state and local health departments by washing your hands with soap and water, avoid touching your face, containing your coughs and sneezes and staying home from work, school, and gatherings if you are ill.

Special measures are being taken within our office to avoid contamination of illness, especially for the elderly, young and immune compromised. If you have concerns please feel free to call with any questions.

Our office has been informed of the following criteria for testing of the novel COVID-19 Virus:

Symptoms of a respiratory illness including cough, difficulty breathing and/or persistent fever. In a child, symptoms may include inconsolable crying, changes in behavior or refusing food or drink.

Travel to the following areas within the past 14 days – China, Iran, Italy, Japan or South Korea – OR Personal contact within the past 14 days with a person who has tested positive for the COVID-19.

Testing is currently not performed within the local clinics, so if you have concerns that you may have contracted this virus, please call our office at (563) 355-9990 for direction. DO NOT walk into the clinic.
